These J.C. de Castelbajac vintage sunglasses are a rare collector’s gem, embodying the avant-garde spirit of one of France’s most unconventional fashion designers. Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, known for his playful, surreal, and artistic approach to design, brought the same energy into eyewear, producing highly limited and imaginative frames in the late 1980s and 1990s.
This model is a striking example of his vision: the bold, futuristic front creates a sculptural X-shaped silhouette, blending rich burgundy tones with a metallic frame. The elongated cat-eye style is transformed into something closer to wearable art than conventional eyewear.
